Registro de cámara del juicio por genocidio de los generales guatemaltecos Efraín Ríos Montt y José Mauricio Rodríguez Sánchez, desde su comienzo el 19 de marzo 2013 hasta su conclusión el 10 de mayo 2013. "El veredicto" corresponde a este último día (Capítulo 24). Ríos Montt fue jefe de estado por casi 17 meses durante 1982 y 1983, y Rodríguez Sánchez llegó a ser su Jefe de Inteligencia Militar. Los cargos de genocidio y crímenes de lesa humanidad surgieron de las masacres de la población indígena ixil perpetradas por las tropas guatemaltecas y fuerzas paramilitares durante esta fase de la brutal y larga guerra civil que vivió el país.
